A Meriden institution and soon to be national landmark. This tiny little joint on the north side has amazing burgers. If you haven't done steamed burgers, it's different, and reminiscent of the old home made burgers of yore; except infinitely better. The way the meat and cheese are cooked separately and then combined with toppings has to be tasted to believe. It's not for everyone, but there are a steady stream of patrons that can't get enough of the place. Popular spot for a stop between NY and Boston with visits from Phantom Gourmet. Tip: Eat on site if you can or in your car if needed; unless you're within a 5 min radius it doesn't travel well.
Dining here was such an awesome experience. In addition to the burger (the southwestern, i think was the name) being the best I've ever had, the staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and truly educated on all things burgers. I was in awe of the knowledge they had not only about their burgers, but burgers from many other establishments far and wide. That, coupled with their friendly attitudes made them true professions. It was the perfect experience to share with my Finnish wife. We enjoyed the food so much that 3 days later we actually debated driving all the way back up from NYC, the completely wrong direction, just to dine here. Wonderful!
Been going here since I was a teenager if you have never experienced a Ted's steamed cheeseburger you are seriously missing out put it on your bucket list..Cute little place quick and friendly service
I've never had burgers like these before! The cheese they use is the thing that makes Ted's Resturaunt the best burger joint. You're missing out if you haven't been here to this little diner like setting. It's well worth it, I've heard of people traveling from New York just to eat their burgers and home fries, and New York is loaded with restaurants. The burgers are huge too, just a heads up!
Amazing stop after a day of work. Picked up 4 burgers to go. The homefry-style fries weren't my thing but I shoulda checked what I ordered. The burgers though. Amazing! They looked small in diameter, but these bad boys are thick and FULL of flavor! Amazing stuff, guys!
